The purchasing managers' index is over 50 points again
After a month of decline the seasonally adjusted value of the purchasing managers' index (PMI) increased to 53.0 points in January from the 49.9 points of December – the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management (MLBKT) announced on Monday.
This year's January figure is higher than the typical long-term average of the first months of the year (52.3 points), but less than the average of the last three years (54.7 points). The respondents overall reported favorable developments, compared to December, when the shorter month and the planned shutdown due to the holidays played a crucial role. (MTI)
