Ipsos research: the Global Inflation Monitor is here
According to the Ipsos Global Inflation Monitor report, an increasing proportion of the world’s population, now the relative majority, 49%, perceives a recession.
This rate among Hungarians is 78%, so only South Koreans are more gloomy than us. Seven out of ten compatriots struggle with financial difficulties, 43% expect a further decline in their standard of living, and at the same time, in general, Hungarians expect a slowdown in inflation in the next 12 months. While the global population primarily names the bad state of the world economy (73% mention), high interest rates (71%) and local government measures (70%) as the main reasons behind the recession, in Hungary the latter is in first place (64% mention ), and the Russian-Ukrainian war and its consequences answer option does not fit into the top 3 factors.
