Interpack focuses on sustainability

GERNEP – manufacturer of labelling machines located in Southern Germany – which is already well established in the beverage, food and non-food sector is presenting at “Interpack 2011” its recent technologies of the different labelling systems for the packaging industry.

For wrap around labelling of various container formats two different machine types are being presented. That is the ROLLINA labelling machine for pre cut paper or plastic labels from the label magazine and the innovative ROLLFED labelling machine for labelling of OPP labels from the label roll. The glue application of both rotary labelling machines results from a special closed hot melt unit.
The hot glue of the GERNEP ROLLINA is applied contact-free onto the container. The end gluing occurs through a continuous adjustable end-gluing ledge at the end of the label magazine.
Technically at the highest level is the solution of the glue application of the ROLLFED system. Hot melt is applied contact-free and selective at the beginning and at the end of the label via nozzles. Alternatively, the machines can be equipped with an end-gluing-head for realizing a continuous end-gluing-stripe.
Because of the closed gluing system the entry of any foreign matter is effectively prevented, so cleaning and maintenance effort can be seriously minimised.

The self adhesive labelling system of GERNEP can be emphasized as highly flexible. The labelling machine LABETTA SK is predestined to meet the requirements of all sectors of the labelling industry. Appropriate servo drives located at the dispenser transfer the labels precise and above all smooth onto the container, even in container recess or increased label fields. It enables processing innovative and exclusive label designs as well as no-label-look and water resistant plastic labels. Compared to wet glue labelling systems changeover times are obviously shorter, similar to the cleaning and maintenance work.
For labelling a great variety of container formats, alternatively, servo driven bottle plates offer an enormous flexibility.

For wet glue labelling GERNEP provides the labelling machine LABETTA. An important advantage of the wet glue aggregate is the innovative overlay gear which allows precise label adjustment. The glue segments are individually adjustable which guarantees a precise and consistent glue application.

Especially flexible is the combination of wet glue, hot glue and self adhesive labelling. To meet all requirements of the processing industry GERNEP developed the LABETTA COMBI labelling machine. Due to the compact arrangement of several different labelling systems nearly every variant of container outfit can be realized. Optionally, the labelling machines of type LABETTA and LABETTA COMBI can be equipped with mechanically or photo electronically container orientation systems. At customer’s request these machines can be additionally equipped with temper evidence labelling (self adhesive) or tax labelling (wet glue) in L- or U-shape.
