The horticulture sector can be renewed through integration
Integration is unavoidable for efficient development and renewal of the horticulture sector. And for this, it is necessary to make effective use of the tender opportunities. That is why we continue to maintain priority support for the horticulture sector, so ornamental gardeners can also count on development resources, as part of which a new, special form of support will be created – announced Minister of Agriculture István Nagy on Friday, Tapolca, at the Professional Day of the National Association of Hungarian Gardeners.

The head of the ministry reminded that the KAP Strategic Plan provides the framework for this, which has become the basis of the agricultural support system. This includes approximately HUF 1,500 billion in resources for economic development-type subsidies in the coming years, with the help of which priority support for the horticulture sector can still be maintained.
Ornamental gardeners can also count on development resources
István Nagy explained that the calls for proposals entitled “Support for horticultural greenhouses, cold storage and post-harvest developments” and “Support for small businesses in the ornamental horticulture sector” are expected to become known within a few weeks, and further applications will be published later. He emphasized that a new element in the plan is the measure aimed at supporting ornamental horticulture small businesses with less than 40 percent of agricultural or 50 percent less than forestry sales revenue. As he said, the purpose of this is to help the actors of the sector, who primarily provide the local population with the plant material and related services necessary for a livable, healthy place of residence, with activities that are not classified as agricultural production. Support options also extend to activities related to ornamental plant trade or green space management. In this way, it will be possible to apply for the creation, development and modernization of buildings, as well as to receive support for the purchase of new machines and tools, technologies related to the trade in ornamental plants and green space management, or even the use of information and communication technologies, explained the minister.
