The holiday season begins: 800 tons of hot dogs and 55 tons of fish arrive in SPAR stores
SPAR Hungary is prepared for this year’s holidays: around 800 tons of hot dogs, 74 tons of salad, and 55 tons of fish will be delivered to the stores before Christmas and New Year’s Eve. In addition to these, the store chain expects high turnover in confectionery products, sweets, and vegetables and fruits.
“The end of the year is approaching, which is a particularly busy period in the commercial sector every year: Christmas and holiday shopping is expected to account for nearly 12 percent of our store chain’s annual turnover. According to our surveys, the well-observable trend of recent months continues, which shows that the demand for SPAR brand products is increasing. “
– explained Márk Maczelka, head of communications at SPAR Hungary.
A wide selection of fresh meat and quality hot dogs
During the Christmas period, among fresh poultry products, the demand for waterfowl grows the most: customer demand for whole ducks, duck legs and duck breasts is also higher than average. SPAR produces more than 55 tons of freshwater and sea fish – the range includes salmon, carp, African catfish and gray catfish, which are the favorites of domestic customers.
SPAR’s own REGNUM meat plants will supply the stores with around 800 tons of the New Year’s Eve hot dog for this season. In addition to the classic frankfurters, lamb sausages and cocktail sausages, cheese, cheddar cheese and chilli flavors are also available. During this period, the store chain sells more than four times the amount of hot dogs compared to an average month, and it also sells much more horseradish and mustards, which go well with it.
