The Sziget Festival starts today

The accomodiations in Budapest are filled with the guests of the Sziget Festival. The festival visitors are continuously arriving to the Hungarian capital.. Three separate trains arrived from the Netherlands to the Western Railway Station on Saturday morning, while the Airport taxi drivers are also busy. The Sziget Festival starts today with a descriptive name for this year: Festival Republic.

It is hard to find a room in three-star hotels, while the hostels are full now. “The invited artists are placed in four-and five-star hotels, while the average visitor are staying in three-star hotels and hostels. The hotels of the city center and the surrounding hotels of the festival can not complain. Hungary needs more such events like in Formula 1 and the Sziget Festival, because from November to April, the hotels are empty”- Kormány Balázs, Budapest Regional Leader of the Hungarian Association of Hotels and Restaurants.   (Vég Márton, Világgazdaság Online)
