Registration opens for the national competition for young chefs
The 2025 XXX. “Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs” Hungarian Youth Chef Competition will be held on November 14 at the METRO Gastro Academy – announced Katalin Pintér, President of the Chaine des Rôtisseurs Friendly Table Society. The competition, which is open to young chefs under the age of 27, offers learning opportunities, professional experience and a chance to qualify for an international competition.
The organizers are not only looking for young chefs from Chaine des Rôtisseurs houses, but also talented full-time chefs from any domestic hotel or restaurant. This year’s theme is goulash, which requires the contestants to create a three-course menu using ingredients from a surprise basket. The menu includes a cold or hot appetizer, main course and dessert, and a total of 3.5 hours are available to prepare the dishes.
The technical director of the competition is Lázár Kovács (Chef Lázár), and the prepared dishes will be judged by recognized Hungarian representatives of the profession. Fresh ingredients will once again be provided by METRO, a long-time supporter of the event.
The winner of the selection will be able to represent Hungary at the “Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs” World Youth Chef Championship to be held in Istanbul in April 2026.
The organizers are accepting entries until 12:00 on October 10, 2025 by sending the completed entry form and attachments to the e-mail address chaine@chaine.hu. The detailed competition notice and entry form are available on the Chaine website.
