The domestic fruit season begins
For the third time, the National Chamber of Agriculture is announcing Fruit and Vegetable Day for June 17 as part of the European Fresh Team program. The goal remains the same, to draw attention to the importance of consuming vegetables and fruits for our health, and to promote the seasonal products of Hungarian agriculture with the advent of the fruit season. The European Fresh Team program campaigns throughout the year to encourage the consumption of fruit and vegetables, as their regular, daily consumption has many beneficial effects. Thanks to their antioxidant content, they prevent certain diseases, their vitamin content supports the functioning of the immune system, and their fiber content contributes to healthy digestion. Consuming 4-5 servings a day – raw or even prepared – already basically covers the needs of our body!
