The fish stocking season in Lake Balaton begins, the chances of catching fish are improving

The autumn fishing season began on Monday in the fish ponds of the Balatoni Halgazdálkódasi Nonprofit Zrt. (BHN), and the caught three-year-old carp will be released into Lake Balaton at several locations, the company announced in a statement sent to MTI on Monday.

Fish stocking is expected to take place every working day of the week.

As they write, the autumn weather and the cooling down have brought the fish a good appetite, which is also greatly facilitated by the end of the orphan mosquito swarms. The fish stocking further increases the chances of catching fish, but not only because of the freshly stocked fish, but also because the new arrivals stimulate the stock already living in the lake, they note.

The BHN will carry out the fish stocking continuously until December, until it fulfills its 300 thousand kilogram carp stocking obligation. This year, almost 50 thousand kilograms of this have already been stocked. The remaining quantity is intended to be filled with catchable-sized carp
