In optimal conditions
Hungary’s bets wines, lots of sunshine and exciting programmes were waiting for the 43,000 visitors of the 26th Budapest Wine Festival. More than 150 winemakers brought nearly 5,000 different wines. There were 4 stages where live music was played. Those who got hungry could choose from many delicious dishes, from street food to special gourmet treats. Within the Taste of Hungary programme people had the chance to get to know Hungary’s most important grape varieties and wine styles.
There was a Wine University where ‘students’ could listen to lectures by the best experts of the trade and taste special wines and cheese varieties. Chile was the special guest country and its presence was a great success. A Grape Harvest March, Folk Music and Folk Dance Gala was organised: the representatives of Hungarian wine regions in their special costumes, folk dance and folk tradition groups were parading around. At the Charity Wine Auction bidders supported the Hungarian Maltese Charity’s programme that helps disadvantaged children: altogether HUF 5,865,000 was raised for the good cause. //
