Illés Boglárka: the government supports the strengthening of self-sufficiency in the food industry
The crises of recent years have shown that self-sufficiency is extremely important, especially in the fields of agriculture and the food industry, which is why the government continues to give special support to this sector, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Illés Boglárka announced on Thursday in Budapest.
At the announcement of Kemenes Cukrász Manufaktúra Kft.’s investment, the state secretary reported that the company will establish a new plant at its site in Páty, and that the project worth almost HUF 1.8 billion will be supported by the state with HUF 620 million, thus facilitating the creation of fifteen new jobs. The development also includes the installation of a solar panel system in order to partially supply the electricity needs.
In his speech, he emphasized that the crises of recent years have also demonstrated that self-sufficiency is of prime importance, especially in the fields of agriculture and the food industry, therefore it is very important to significantly support these sectors, even beyond their own economic weight.
In connection with this, he also addressed the world’s population explosion, pointing out that the global population is growing by 140 people every minute.
