This is how Lidl fights against plastic waste
Lidl eliminates the distribution of single-use plastic products in its stores by the end of 2019. The measure now announced is the next step in the company’s strategy to reduce plastics waste – the chain of stores wrote in its communication sent to Origo.
After the company announced in April 2018 that it will reduce its plastic consumption by 20 percent by 2025, the company will introduce new concrete measures. As a first step, Lidl Magyarország terminates the sales of disposable plastic products such as straw fibers, disposable plastic cups, plastic plates and cutlery, and plastic ear cleaning sticks in its 169 stores until the end of 2019.
