Wages will continue to rise this year, which is a huge challenge for companies
The majority of companies are preparing for a wage increase this year. However, it can be clearly seen from the employers that it is a huge challenge for them to implement a wage improvement of such a volume that the employees would be satisfied with.
The domestic labor shortage only raises the stakes, because in certain blue-collar jobs, employees are willing to change jobs even for a difference of a few thousand forints. Therefore, companies are under more pressure than ever before in terms of recruitment and employee retention – points out Magdolna Mihályi, CEO of Jobtain HR Service Provider.
The labor shortage experienced in Hungary in recent years also presents serious challenges to companies in terms of wage development. Employers currently compete for employees regardless of sector and job title. The construction industry and the manufacturing industry are in a particularly difficult situation, and quality assurance engineers are currently in unprecedented demand on the labor market among white-collar jobs.
