This year, you can apply for GEOfood international trademark use in several rounds

This year, local producers and restaurants in the Novohrad-Nógrád Geopark can apply for the GEOfood international brand in three stages; the first deadline is February 20, 2022, however, anyone who is unable to apply now will have the opportunity to submit their application by May 20 or August 31, GEOfood trademark coordinator Nagy Julia told MTI on Monday.

There are three rounds to apply for the GEOfood International Trademark

Nagy Julia explained in a press release that the international certification mark is currently open to producers and restaurants in 29 of the world’s UNESCO Global Geoparks that meet the standards.

The basic condition for obtaining the trademark is that the raw materials must come locally, from the geopark area, the producers of the products must operate in the geopark area, and the GEOfood products must be closely related to the local geological heritage and provide specific brief written information on the food or on the menus of restaurants, ” – she added.
