Four more products have been approved for drone application this spring

The manufacturers have proven the effectiveness of the newly approved insecticide sprays and fungicides in experiments set up in accordance with the Nébih guidelines. The newly expanded products for drone use and their areas of use:

The Mospilan 120 SL insecticide spray can be used by drone spraying in winter wheat, spring wheat, durum wheat, spelt, triticale and winter rapeseed crops, with the addition of the DropMax drift-reducing additive. The product provides effective protection against pests of the mentioned crops – aphid species, seed whitener beetles, rapeseed mealybug, rapeseed midge and rapeseed midge.

The Mimic insecticide spray can be used by drone spraying in corn (feed, grain, silage, seed) and sweet corn crops, also with the addition of DropMax additive. The product effectively protects plants against corn borer and cotton bollworm.

The Pictor Active fungicide spray can be used by drone application in sunflower crops, using Arrest spray adjuvant. It effectively protects plants against alternaria disease, rust and sclerotinia disease (white mold).

Elatus Era fungicide spray can be applied by drone in autumn and spring wheat crops, with the addition of Arrest spray adjuvant. The product provides effective protection against red rust.

In addition to farmers using only approved products, it is also essential to strictly comply with occupational safety regulations

The unmanned aerial vehicle can fly at a maximum height of 3 meters above the crop. The maximum permitted flight speed of the drone is 15 km/h. During spraying, it must also be ensured that the diameter of the spray liquid droplets on the crop to be treated is at least 200 µm by 50% of its volume. The products can be applied with the simultaneous use of the prescribed spray adjuvant. The safety distance to be maintained from the treated area is 50 meters. The maximum permitted wind speed is 2 m/s. Nébih draws the attention of those concerned that for legal activities, the drone used must have a type rating, and the drone pilot must also be included in the drone pilot register kept by Nébih. Spraying with a drone still qualifies as aerial plant protection, and therefore may only be carried out under the supervision of a plant specialist (Decree 44/2005 (V.6.) § 10). Furthermore, before starting the activity, a permit must be requested from the plant and soil protection department of the regionally competent county government office (Decree 44/2005 (V.6.) § 3/A and § 3/B).
