This year, the National Chamber of Agrárgazdasági Kamara is offering a membership fee discount of around HUF two billion
On June 1, 2023, the membership fee determination period at the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK) began. Pursuant to the decision of the national assembly of delegates of the public body, after last year’s HUF 1 billion budget, this year NAK offers a new membership fee discount of nearly HUF 2 billion.
From June 1 to July 14, 2023, the membership fee determination period for private individuals (primary producers and sole proprietors) and business organizations paying membership fees based on sales at the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy runs. This year, membership fees are calculated according to the new membership fee structure.
Last year, NAK’s national assembly of delegates decided to reform the membership fee system
According to the new regulations, in the case of members paying based on their sales, the annual minimum membership fee is 1 percent of the previous year’s average gross monthly earnings (rounded to HUF 1,000), and the annual maximum membership fee is four times the previous year’s average gross monthly earnings (rounded to 50 thousand HUF). . Between the minimum and maximum membership fee, instead of the former band system, a more proportional burden-bearing, linear system that tracks economic performance came into effect: members unanimously pay 1.9 thousandths of their annual sales as an annual membership fee. Thanks to this, it cannot happen in the future, for example, that if a member’s sales revenue exceeds the previous III. the upper limit of the membership fee band (50 million HUF), then your annual membership fee will increase 5 times, instead of 30 thousand HUF to 150 thousand HUF. Based on the average gross monthly earnings of HUF 515,800 published by the Central Statistical Office for the year 2022, the minimum amount of the membership fee would be HUF 5,000/year, and the maximum amount would be HUF 2,050,000/year without discounts this year. The transformation of the membership fee system was necessary because the minimum membership fee (2,000 HUF per year) and maximum membership fee (1,000,000 HUF per year), which had been unchanged for 10 years, gradually “inflated”. In the last 10 years, the minimum wage and the gross monthly average wage have more than doubled. The new annual minimum membership fee of HUF 5,000 is in real terms the same as HUF 2,000 per year 10 years ago. It accounts for 2 %. It is also important to note that the energy prices unleashed as a result of the war, as well as the high inflation, significantly increased the costs of maintaining and operating the network of village farmers with approximately 600 people and 1,000 customer service points. Due to the change in the Common Agricultural Policy, more and more tasks fall on the Chamber, since the support system has become much more complicated than before. In order for farmers to be able to claim the subsidies they are entitled to in full, the Chamber’s network must be developed, but this has serious costs.
Thanks to the transformation of the membership fee structure, tens of thousands of members will have a more favorable or almost similar membership fee than calculated according to the previous rules
On the other hand, those whose membership fees increase will receive a membership fee discount of approximately HUF 2 billion in total, with which NAK wishes to help their activities in the current economic situation. More than 80 percent of the membership, around 320,000 members, receive a discount. Last year, due to the difficult economic conditions caused by the historic drought and the Russian-Ukrainian war, NAK provided its members with a membership fee discount of HUF 1 billion, so in 2022-23 the total amount of the discount will be close to HUF 3 billion. From June 1, 2023, a NAK member or representative paying membership fees based on sales can view the membership fee for 2023 determined by NAK in the e-Office branch accessible after logging in from the Chamber’s portal (www.nak.hu). It is possible to modify the data and to use additional discounts already known from previous years free of charge until the end of the membership fee determination period, until July 14, 2023. Those membership fees established by NAK, which have neither been accepted nor corrected by this date, are deemed to have been accepted pursuant to the NAK Statutes. The deadline for paying the membership fee is also July 14, 2023.
