Farmers to receive free irrigation this year
Like last year, the government will exempt farmers from the agricultural water supply fee through state-owned water facilities in 2025. Irrigation is the basis of safe crop production and food supply.

That is why the Ministry of Agriculture is using all means to help farmers adapt to the changed climatic conditions. Those affected can count on the government to ensure production conditions and maintain market competitiveness, as it has done so far. In order to maintain the continuous production of agricultural products and ensure food security, the state will also assume the water service fee for irrigation, rice production and fish farming from producers this year.
Farmers will thus be able to access irrigation water free of charge through state-owned water facilities (main works)
The Ministry of Agriculture also pays special attention to the development of irrigated agriculture and the support of sustainable water management communities within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan. Our medium-term goal is to continuously increase the size of irrigated areas and to bring it closer to 350 thousand hectares by 2030.
