Food price increase in Hungary only under inflation
Demand for cheaper food will grow, it could increase the market share of retail branded products, according to AgrárMonitor, a quarterly report on Hungarian agriculture, issued by Agrár Európa Kft. and Kopint-Tárki.
The report found that the Hungarian
food prices decreased in November 2008, specialists forecasted same
situation for 2009. It is not the best news for growers because the
production costs also will increase this year.
Researchers said demand for premium
category products will not shrink, but products in midle price
category, there are the most Hungarian products, will decline.
