This year, tourism is expected to decrease further in Egypt
Up to four million tourists are expected to arrive this year to Egypt, less than the half of last year and fewer guests are coming from Hungary as well – Mohamed Ahmed, manager for one of Egypt's largest travel agency, Travel Ways Egypt told MTI. The expert stressed that the controls were significantly tightened at airports for the security of tourists.
According to the data of the Egyptian Tourism Ministry, in 2015, 9.2 million people visited the country, six per cent fewer than a year earlier. The main reason for the decline is that Russian tourists avoid Egypt since the Russian passenger’s plane crash in October last year. Russians gave about 30 percent of the tourist in Egypt. The number of German and English guests also dropped significantly. (MTI)
