IDEA: an average 10 percent price increase is expected from the chips-tax
The National Assembly approved the law on public health product fee. According to a recent analysis, the burden can cause an average 10 percent price increase in case of the affected products. The biggest losers might be the energy drink consumers, because they may pay up to 40 percent more in the future.
The law on public health product fee sets out the taxable products These include soft drinks, energy drinks, pre-packaged sugary products, salty snacks, and condiments.
According to IDEA; the total tax revenue may be around 20-22 billion HUF – reports mfor.hu.
