Easter price drop: holiday products are up to 30% cheaper than a year ago
The prices of the most popular and popular products on the festive table this Easter season are significantly lower than in 2023. The price drop primarily affects goods procured from Hungary, in addition to the Easter season products, the price of Trappist cheese also fell – almost by half in one year.
This year, consumers can shop at a significantly more favorable price during the Easter period than a year before. The current lower sale prices apply in many product categories, so during the Easter holiday, the most popular products cost up to a third less than last year’s sale prices.
Eggs are one of the must-have foods for Easter. Since the beginning of 2022, ALDI has exclusively offered eggs from Hungarian sources on its store shelves, so the prices of all eggs have been reduced thanks to domestic suppliers. Considering all egg products, the average price reduction is 26%, but the price of some products decreased by 31%. The cheapest egg is the S-sized GOLDLAND egg offered in a tray of 30 pieces, the price of which is only HUF 40 per piece.
The other most popular Easter product is horseradish, which costs 24% less in the same packaging as in 2023.
