Smaller shops will open after Easter in the neighboring countries
Smaller stores in Austria could open after Easter – Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced at a press conference in Vienna on precautionary measures about the coronavirus situation on Monday.
“We have reacted faster and more decisively in Austria than in other countries, so we have the opportunity to recover more quickly from the crisis,” – Kurz said. He stressed, however, that Easter week will be crucial in terms of whether life can gradually return to normal after that.
The chancellor explained: it is planned that in eight days, from 14 April, smaller shops no larger than 400 square meters, DIY stores and open-air markets will reopen; however, a face mask must still be worn and only a specified number of customers may be present in a store at the same time. From 1 May, all stores in Austria can open, including shopping malls and hairdressers, as well as taking precautions, Kurz added. (Noll Katalin, MTI)
