Meat, milk, eggs? How to replace them with plant-based products
The popularity of plant-based products is constantly growing, and today 30 percent of customers regularly choose such products from the Kifli.hu range. The online supermarket offers more than 500 such substitute products, and the category has often been the leader in the growth of the entire product range in recent years. Plant-based alternatives can easily replace milk, eggs, meat, cheese and yogurt. But why is it worth trying them? – this is what the experts at Kifli.hu investigated.
The demand for plant-based products is constantly increasing. The online supermarket Kifli.hu currently offers more than 500 substitute products that are an alternative to animal-based foods for those who choose a sustainable, conscious, environmentally friendly, healthy lifestyle. The most popular brands in the eyes of customers in this category are Alpro, The Bridge and Oatly, but last year the Yutto own-brand organic plant drink family also gained great popularity.
The turnover of the plant-based category has repeatedly exceeded the company’s average growth in the past two years. According to Kifli.hu experts, the increase in the popularity of such products is a good direction, as plant-based alternatives not only bring health benefits, but also serve sustainability. As the WWF 2024 report points out, the production of animal-based foods involves significant resource consumption and environmental burden. The annual meat consumption of one person requires almost half a football field’s worth of land, while the production of dairy products consumed by an average European in a year consumes approximately 1,600 bathtubs, i.e. more than 240 thousand liters of water. With the help of Kifli.hu experts, we investigated exactly what positive effects can be achieved by replacing traditional foods with plant-based products.
