In the past week, 25-50 millimeters of precipitation fell in Transdanubia and the Northern Central Mountains, while 10-25 millimeters fell in the Great Plain, which in most places is more than the total precipitation of the previous thirty days. However, the amount that fell in October is still less than the multi-year average nationwide, but the deficit is only 5-25 millimeters compared to what is usual at this time of year. By the end of last week, the near-surface soil layer was thoroughly moistened in those areas where at least 20 millimeters of precipitation fell, but drier areas remained in the southeastern part of the country. The temperature was slightly higher than the usual values at this time of year.

The harvest of summer crops has been completed or is nearing completion in many places

The rapeseed is typically strong and in good condition, benefiting from last week’s thorough irrigation, which was also a lifesaver for autumn crops – they wrote. In many places, you can already see beautifully green, strong fields, but there are some stands that have barely sprouted. Autumn sowings, especially in the Great Plain, would greatly need further significant rainfall – they drew attention.
