Hungarian consumer confidence at a 10-year peak
In the 3rd quarter of 2017 the Hungarian consumer confidence index reached another record height with 76 points. The European average was 87 points – revealed a 63-country online survey by Nielsen. Hungary’s score got 6 points better, while the European one improved by 2 points. In Hungary the three components of the index developed as follows (in comparison with the 2nd quarter of 2017): personal finances – 37 percent said they were good or excellent (up 6 percentage points), job prospects – 33 percent were optimistic (up 5 percentage points), time is right to buy – 28 percent (up 4 percentage points).
If we take a look at the situation in Central and Eastern Europe, we can see that Poland is the most optimistic country in the region with a 104-point index, followed by the Czech Republic at 101 points and Romania with 98 points. //
