Hungarian company structure continues to consolidate
In 2017 about 40,000 companies were deleted and 27,000 new ones were founded in Hungary. The number of companies has been decreasing for 5 years now. According to Richárd Pertics, business unit manager of Opten, the situation is still far from a balanced state.
On 1 January 2018 there were 533,000 companies in Hungary, but from these only 483,000 are functioning properly (this means that there is no Court of Registration procedure against them). Mr Pertics that the decreasing number of companies is the result of a consolidation process which had started years ago. It is noteworthy that 80 percent of newly established companies are tied to existing ones in one way or another. //
