Humus Association: recharging of beverage packaging makes the recycling of PET bottles more efficient
Replacing beverage packaging makes recycling PET bottles more efficient, in part because disposable plastic bottles and metal cans are not mixed with other types of packaging waste, and replacing refillable beverage packaging requires less packaging to be produced, the Humus Association told MTI on Monday.
With the involvement of several environmental NGOs and experts, the association prepared a compilation on the redemption of beverage packaging and the development of an efficient deposit fee system.
Organizations welcome the introduction of redemption systems in Hungary, but consider it important to prioritize refillable multipath packaging over single-use packaging. (MTI)
