The price of potato has tripled in the United Kingdom
It will be a sad year for those who love potatoes in the UK. The summer heat waves and droughts have so badly affected crops that prices have tripled in the United Kingdom in August compared to a year ago – portfolio.hu wrote after Bloomberg.
In the United Kingdom, fresh potatoes cost 300 pounds per ton last month, which has been the third highest value since 1950. Meanwhile, the futures price of potatoes doubled in April with this year’s delivery. (portfolio.hu)
