How do online stores take advantage of this year’s peak season?
Inflation rates have skyrocketed, but this is not reflected in the decrease in the number of online purchases, claims Bogdan Colceriu, head of Frisbo. According to the CEO of the international e-logistics company, despite the economic downturn, the increase in fuel prices and the rise in energy costs, people are not choosing to cut back on spending, rather it is apparent that their shopping habits have changed.
Online shopping, which has become common due to the pandemic, continues to conquer, and it seems that this trend will remain. In 2021, e-commerce turnover worldwide amounted to about 4.9 trillion dollars. This figure is expected to grow by 50 percent over the next three years and reach $7.4 billion by 2025.
“In the last quarter of 2021 – i.e. the golden quarter – e-commerce sales increased by more than 15%, this rate is expected to be 25% in this high season. Even though the world is facing an uncertain economic situation, consumers are still looking for good deals. This trend will become even stronger this year, as customers plan more and more consciously what they spend their money on.”
– believes the CEO of Frisbo.
However, in addition to the significant influx of people shopping during the festive period and before, there is another aspect that all brands and online stores must take into account: the high expectations of customers. They expect online stores to be fully prepared, as they expect a pleasant shopping experience for the money they plan to spend. This means that they expect there to be no shortage of stock and that packages arrive quickly and on time.
