The mangalica conquers in Japan
The Hungarian Mangalitsa conquers the Japanese market. Started in Michelin-starred restaurants, it is considered more prominent than the world's coolest meat products. The Hungarian Mangalitsa targets Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Dezső, the stuffed, curly blond Mangalitsa had a great success in early May in Hong Kong. It was its umpteenth appearance in the Far East, where it was exhibited at the largest food fairs.
The Japanese found the curly pig beautiful and interesting, and they want to know everything about it: where does it come from, what does it eat, how to prepare it in Hungary, why is it so special – these are the most typical questions. (origo, Fekete Emese)
