American shopping habits changing. According to a local survey conducted by Nielsen, Americans are trying to save money on shopping, and also produce less garbage as a result of rising food prices. Sales of organic products have expanded by 25,5 per cent last year, in spite of higher prices.

Danone spending EUR 220 million on R&D this year. In order to develop healthy food products, Danone is to finance 50 clinical trials this year. This has resulted in a nearly 50 per cent increase in the R&D budget of the French food company.

Rossmann opening stores in Albania. The first unit is to be opened in Tirana in the autumn, while the next one will be opened in the port of Durres.

Strauss purchasing the brands of the Russian Cosan Coffee. The Israeli company has paid USD 93 million for Chornaya Carta and Kaffa. Present revenues of USD 120 million generated by Strauss in the region will double as a result of the transaction, making Strauss the market leader in the Russian and Ukrainian market of coffee.

Zwack closing successful first quarter. The company produced stable growth of 5,6 per cent in gross revenues in the January-March period, while net revenues were up by 6,5 per cent compared to the preceding quarter.
