Sales of hair colouring, body lotion and toilet paper rose 1-6% in volume terms
Retail sales in Hungary of household chemicals and cosmetics fell 1% in value terms and 3% in volume terms in January-October from the same period a year earlier, market research company Nielsen's latest survey says.
Nielsen put the value of Hungary’s household chemicals and cosmetics market at about 300 billion HUF. Sales of hair colouring, body lotion and toilet paper rose 1-6% in volume terms, while sales of the ten most popular product – toilet paper, nappies, deodorants, general cleaning products, toothpaste and paper tissues – rose 1-3% in value terms. Sales at hypermarkets accounted for 38% of the total in the market segment. Sales at druggists made up 27%.
