Despite the Sunday store closure has ended, the significance of Sunday decreased in case of card users
The Sunday store closure thoroughly reorganized the consumer habits of the card users: half a year after the lifting of the ban on Sunday working far fewer people are paying with cards in the stores on the last day of the week than before the closure.
MasterCard's latest data also suggest that a long-term trend change is taking place in retail beyond the Sunday store closure: the significance of the big weekend shopping has been shrinking and the traffic slowly moves to working days.
