Another talented and acclaimed Hungarian chef has decided to open his own restaurant. Lajos Takács had worked as the chef of Jankó restaurant for years and is known as one of the advocates of modernisation trends in Hungarian cuisine. – It was January when we were offered an opportunity to take over a Greek restaurant near Garay tér with my friend Csaba Csongrádi. We will not have a printed menu or a wine list in our restaurant, Olimpia. We will decide what to cook on a daily basis depending on the quality of materials I find in the market… He believes the biggest problem in the profession is not the tension between generations, but jealousy. He hopes that guests will come to Olimpia for the style, rather than specific dishes.
