In six out of seven Dutch supermarkets plant-based alternatives are cheaper than animal products
According to a recent survey by Questionmark for ProVeg International, 6 out of 7 Dutch retailers now offer some plant-based foods at a lower price than their animal-based counterparts.

Although the research, which compared 12 standard products across 7 chains, shows that overall prices for plant-based foods are lower than before, there are still differences within product categories. For instance plant-based dairy products – including cottage cheese and yogurt – are still more expensive than products made with cow’s milk. ProVeg says the price gap between animal and plant products is gradually narrowing, and price-sensitive consumers now prefer sustainable options. //
