METRO hosted people helping local communities
Young talented chefs prepared community food in Budaörs: on November 14, METRO organized an unusual social action, community food preparation and food distribution professional program. Within the framework of the program – the main patron of which was the mayor of Budaörs, Tamás Wittinghoff – the guests of the large company were people working for the local community for a gourmet lunch: METRO delivered a traditional meal prepared with a modern recipe to nearly a hundred employees of three local organizations.

The lunch was prepared by four talented young chefs and an artisan baker at the METRO Gastro Academy and delivered by METRO’s senior staff at lunchtime. The young chefs active in different parts of the country are internationally known figures of Hungarian gastronomy: Richárd Farkas, manager of the Pajta Restaurant in Óriszentéter, Dávid Pallag, chef of Rutin Gastrolubickoló in Budaörs, Ádám Pohner, former Hungarian competitor of the Bocuse d’Or, owner of Iszkor-Mályinka , and András Szabó, the chef of Villa Kabala in Szigliget. András Török, the manager of Andriska Pékbisztró in Kővágóörs, also took part in the food preparation. Their collaboration under the auspices of the METRO Gastro Academy is by no means a new thing, as they have already jointly created a meat-free community dish on the occasion of the Gourmet Festival: a gourmet dödölle that incorporates the characteristic flavors of the different regions into a harmonious whole.
