The production area of the Hungarian walnut grows continuously as the domestic varieties have a market gap due to their age. The cultivation of walnuts is becoming increasingly popular among farmers. The production area is growing dynamically year after year, reaching 7130 hectares, and the average yield has approached the ten thousand tons of nuts in recent years – was said at the walnut conference in Lengyeltóti.
