National Council of Mountains Villages: 4.2 million tons of grapes were produced this year
About 4.2 million tons of grapes were grown this year, yielding 2.9 to 3.1 million hectoliters of wine – Brazsil Dávid, secretary general of the National Council of Mountains Villages told M1 news channel on Wednesday.
The Secretary-General said that this amount represents a yield of 10-15 percent above the average of the past 10 years.
The winemakers expect very good quality wines as they have been harvesting nicely ripen, healthy fruits and there is hope that this year was also good for Tokaji Aszú. (MTI)
