World wine production at sixty-year low
The European wine production closed an extremely weak year in 2017, which is mostly due to the bad weather – origo wrote. Despite these, the global trade is booming, consumption has also risen last year. Last time so little wine was produced in 1957.
Due to the bad weather, the production of the EU states fell back, which could not be offset by the production of other regions of the world. The total production in 2017 was 250 million hectoliters, 8.6 percent lower than in the previous year – Business Insider wrote, referring to the data of the Paris-based International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV).
