Last year's balance – 600 stores less
The shrinking of retail stores chains slowed – according to Nielsen Research Company.
Only small stores were closed, the
number of middle size stores stagnated but hyper and supermarket
increased in 2007. Last year 14 new hypermarket were opened, now
there are 123. According to Nielsen every third costumers forints
arrived in their cashiers. There is a growting at the number of
supermarkets (397) and discounters (498). From food retail
discounters got 18,4%, supermarkets 10%, domestic chains (CBA, Coop,
Real) 28%, independent small stores 13,1% market share.
