“At Coca-Cola we believe that women’s equality and their broad socio-economic empowerment is beneficial for the society as a whole. It is our global experience that women invest a large part of their income in their children’s health and education, as well as in the local economy, which has a multiplier effect on their families and local communities in the long term.
Our award-winning programme has so far involved more than 100 disadvantaged women, but the wider number of people affected is around 400. “New Chances in the Labour Market” is about helping women in a difficult socio-economic situation e.g. they are victims of domestic violence and living in shelter houses, have lost their home, are single mothers or refugees etc. to find a job, Participants get the opportunity to learn relevant marketable skills. They receive full support, including travel and childcare costs during the training programme. We are thinking in the long term and expect the programme to reach 1,000 beneficiaries”.
