Contaminated, and candied honey found by the authority
Carcinogenic antibiotics honey was found by the Agricultural Office in several large chains of stores. The contaminated products with nitrofuran derivatives were recalled.
Nitrofuran is carcinogenic, must not be used in Europe.
The values that were shown in the honeys were so low that there was no immediate health threat. But however, the long-term consumption of the products could have carcinogenic effects therefore, the nitrofurans are classified as prohibited substances – reports penzcentrum.hu.
