Six million tonnes of corn crop is expected
This year's corn harvest will be about six million tonnes because of the summer heat has significantly reduced the volume of the crop – the Minister of Agriculture said in Csabacsüd, Békés County.
Fazekas Sándor at the opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Corn Day in Csabacsüd recalled that last year 9.3 million tonnes of maize has grown. Referring to the position of the plant in agriculture he pointed out that 1.2 million hectares of sown area is higher than the sown area of wheat. (MTI)
