The income of McDonald’s in Hungary increased enormously
The sales revenue of the Progress Restaurant chain, which operates McDonald’s restaurants in Hungary, was HUF 32.25 billion in the first six months of the year, which is an annual increase of 38.3 percent compared to the first half of last year, the company announced on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange.

The company’s incomes grew enormously
According to the half-year balance sheet, the profit after tax was HUF 2.242 billion, while the company’s balance sheet total increased to HUF 68.489 billion by the end of June from HUF 66.373 billion at the end of 2021.
According to the relevant announcement, the expansion of sales was helped by the low base and the growing franchise revenues of new restaurants. However, the increase in food prices on the world market and wage costs above the plan had a negative effect on the operating profit, they wrote.
They also informed that between January and June, the network expanded with six new units: new McDonald’s opened in Zalaegerszeg, Pécs, Velenc, Eger, Kecskemét and Szombathely, thus increasing the number of restaurants to 103. According to the half-yearly management report published on the BÉT website, the modernization of four-fifths of all restaurants will be completed by the end of the year, and several drive-in restaurants will be handed over.
