Chinese spend tens of billions on their pets each year
According to the latest study of the Euromonitor research firm, the Chinese pet keepers spend tens of billions each year, and the market will grow significantly in the coming years.
The country's 33 million cat and dog owners spent 7.84 billion yuans (298 billion HUF) in 2012. Until 2017, this figure can exceed 12.9 billion yuans (490 billion HUF) the research estimated. The trend is fueled by the increasing number of animals as well as the changing housing conditions. (Szerencsi Ágnes, MTI)
