The domestic SME sector is before a huge growth, but not the way we would expect it
It is expected that the conditions for SME classification will change from 2020, which will result in an increase in the number of Hungarian SMEs. With the change of legislation, several companies will be appropriate to EU funding and tax incentives – Hantos Zoltán, project manager of the Opten company information service provider said.
The SME classification is currently regulated by the 2004 / 35th law under the Commission Recommendation 2003/361/EC. On this basis, an enterprise with fewer than 250 employees and an annual net revenue of up to 50 million euros or a balance sheet total of up to 43 million euros is considered to be an SME. Within this category, the law distinguishes micro- and medium-sized businesses as well.
