There is a huge potential in local products
The government considers the work of domestic producers to be important, so we will do everything we can to ensure that as much domestic food as possible is used in public catering and hospitality, said Dr. Márton Nobilis, State Secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, at the opening of the “Local products” program series, at the Herman Ottó Institute, Budapest.

The state secretary emphasized that local producers are the ones with whom we can build a personal relationship, and of whom we can be proud, because they contribute to the preservation of our cultural heritage, popularize Hungarian flavors, and provide the raw materials for Hungarian gastronomy. By purchasing these products, we help rural producers get to the market quickly. For this reason, the government has repeatedly provided support to the markets.
Dr. Márton Nobilis also touched on the fact that our country is capable of providing for 20 million people and that this performance must be maintained in the long term
In addition to local producers, we will have national champions. These are Hungarian companies that can not only supply the domestic market, but are also capable of exporting large quantities of food. The state secretary emphasized that the government always stands by small, medium and large food industry enterprises and pays special attention to domestic producers, because the most important thing is that good quality, safe and domestic food is always on the table of Hungarian families.
