Useful information about the electronic Farming logbook that helps producers provide data
Farmers with a total area of more than 10 hectares are already well aware that since January 1, they have to keep up-to-date the insecticide treatments carried out in field crops in the e-GN. Based on the questions raised in connection with the topic, it is important to know that this includes the sowing of coated seeds, but it is not mandatory to enter herbal prescriptions in the diary.
Given that in the case of coated seed, the seed is treated with a pesticide, its sowing is considered pesticide application. Therefore, if the weeding was done with an insecticide, the 24-hour reporting obligation in e-GN applies.
When recording, in the field called Propagation material type, the treatment of the seed must be indicated as coated
After that, a new plant protection operation must be created for the given area, in which the data of the herbicide must be entered for the data of the plant protection agent. In the system, it is necessary to indicate the dose and the unit of measurement, which data (as of this year) Hungarian seed distributors must include on the packaging. (In the absence of this, please contact the distributor.) It is not necessary to fill in the fields relating to spray juice.
It is important to emphasize that it is not mandatory to upload herbal prescriptions to the diary, and the electronic diary does not need to be stamped and signed by a herbalist. The reason for this is that the specialist manager can only prescribe plant protection products to the producer with whom he has concluded a contract for the provision of plant protection services.
Farmers with a total area of less than 10 ha must also upload their data to the online Farming Log
They can fulfill the obligation by subsequently uploading the paper-based spraying log until January 31, 2024, or they can even decide to – to simplify the process – keep their spraying log directly on the electronic interface. When using the e-GN, it is advisable to also record the plant protection observations of the production sites, which will also significantly facilitate the submission when the obligation becomes actual.
In order to avoid data service peaks, producers are recommended to keep and upload data continuously. If you have any questions about the operation of the system or the recording of data, please send them to the e-mail address egn@nebih.gov.hu.
