Useful information on filling in the new data fields of the spraying log
In accordance with the requirements of the EU regulation, the data content of the spraying log has been modified: two new data fields have been added. Several questions have arisen regarding the change, so the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) has collected the most important information to help those keeping the log in filling in the new fields correctly.

In accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) No 564/2023, the log to be kept on plant protection treatments has been expanded with two new data fields. In the following cases, it is necessary to fill in the starting time of the spraying operation and the data on the phenological stage of the treated crop (so-called BBCH). The starting time of the spraying operation needs to be recorded only if the authorisation document of the plant protection product used contains a relevant restriction. This is primarily relevant in the case of application using bee-friendly technology. Bee-friendly technology is an application method in which the application of plant protection products that pose a risk to bees can only be started after the end of the daily active flight period of bees, at the earliest one hour before astronomical sunset, and the operation must be completed by 23:00 at the latest. If the given product can only be applied with bee-friendly technology, or the authorisation document prescribes a time restriction for application, the start time of spraying must be specified. The BBCH phenological stage of the treated crop must be recorded if the authorisation document of the plant protection product specifies a development stage as a condition for use for the treated crop. This may, for example, be a requirement that the product cannot be used during flowering, in which case the use table in the authorisation document of the plant protection product contains a designation according to the BBCH scale, which shows in which phenological stages the product can be used.
