Consumer sentiment is on a three-month peak in the United States
The consumer sentiment reached a three-month peak in the United States in April – the regular monthly survey of Michigan University revealed. The results were published on Friday.
In April the consumer mood index rose to 97.0 points from the 96.9 points of March.
Analysts expected a final value of 98.0 points in April.
The 97.0-point value is far short of the 97.4-points that is the five-month average of the indicator.
Among the sub-indices, the consumer expectations for the next six months rose from 86.5 to 87.0 points, and the sub-index reflecting the current situation dropped from 113.2 to 112.7 points. (MTI)
